Weaknesses and Strengths

• Less complete sql support than Postgresql

  • No types
  • No embedded sub-language
    • Perl can not be put in the database as it can in PG

• Less of everthing than Oracle/SQL Server

  • Disk space
  • Administration time
  • Ever-changing feature set
  • Dead ends (LONG, anyone?)
  • Limits (varchar2(4000)
