The Perl Cookbook

This is my all-time favorite perl book! I know it's heresy to not like
the Camel best, but I never use it. I always reach for the Cookbook
first. In fact, until a few months ago, I hadn't even upgraded my Camel
(still had the pink one from v4).
"Well what did you do before the Cookbook came out", you ask... I
mostly relied on sample code from other people. But collecting sample
code can be a tedious process, and a scary way to learn. That is why
the Cookbook is so wonderful. If you like to learn best from examples,
then get this book immediately.
If you are skeptical of learning from examples, that is probably
because most of the books out there that are "example-oriented" are
garbage. This book, on the other hand, is really good. This book is
accessible, readable, applicable and fun!
The only thing I would change about the Cookbook is the fact that it is
written to be a "cookbook". I think the metaphor is too cutesy and
might make people think that it's a beginner's book.
